"Shiddah" (harshness) is an inner trait that prompts a person to be harsh in his words or actions. "Shiddah" is of two types: 1. Praiseworthy "shiddah": a. In dealing with the disbelievers, who are at war with Muslims. b. When the prohibitions of Allah, the Almighty, or the limits He has set, are violated. 2. Blameworthy "shiddah": a. In practicing worship. b. In dealing with Muslims.
“Shiddah”: hardness, rigidity. Original meaning: strength. Opposite: "da`f" (weakness). Other meanings: perfection.
To be hard in dealing with oneself or with others.
