الشرح المختصر
"Ijhaaz" (Killing the wounded) means putting an end to the life of a living thing swiftly. It is of two types: 1. "Ijhaaz" done to a human being, which in turn is of two types: a. "Ijhaaz" in a legitimate corporal punishment, such as finishing off a killer or the like. b. "Ijhaaz" in a battle, such as finishing off an enemy soldier wounded in battle. 2. "Ijhaaz" done to an animal, either edible, permissible to kill because of being harmful, or impermissible to kill such as donkey or mule.
