The time between sunset and the break of the true dawn.
الشرح المختصر
The "layl" (night) is the time that follows the day. It is characterized by darkness and stillness. Allah, the Almighty, has made it a cosmic sign and indicator of His greatness, His power, and His wisdom. Humans, animals, and plants are all in need of it.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر
"Layl": the darkness which follows daytime. It starts from sunset and continues until sunrise.
