‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: I have never seen the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) laugh so heartily that his uvula could be seen; rather, he would only smile.

شرح الحديث :

This Hadīth reflects some of the aspects of the Prophet's guidance with regard to the qualities of solemnity and serenity. She said: "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) laugh so heartily that his uvula could be seen; rather, he would only smile." That means that he never laughed out loud opening his mouth to the point his uvula could be seen; rather, he only used to smile or laugh until his wisdom teeth or canines could be seen, and this characteristic indicates his solemnity.
