التعريف
A chain of transmission with a small number of narrators between the scholar reporting the hadith and the prophet (peace be upon him), or between the scholar and one of the leading Imams of the hadith discipline (short distance), or stated by a narrator whose narrations are preferred to those of his colleagues (higher distinction).
