المعنى الاصطلاحي
Something made to resemble one of the animate creatures of Allah the Almighty.
الشرح المختصر
"Timthaal": a three-dimensional image that has the form of a human being, an animal or any other animate being. Most probably it is used for things that are made to be worshiped besides Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He. The wisdom behind removing them is to eliminate the means that lead to polytheism.
