التعريف
This is a well-known question discussed under the heading of ‘unanimity’. Suppose that the first generation expressed two views on a certain question, may the scholars of the second generation put forward a third view? Some say: ‘they may not do so, because this goes against the unanimity’, while others say: ‘they may because the scholars of the first generation did not unanimously hold a single view’.
