التعريف
- the examination of the transmission of a particular narration in different books of hadith to establish whether a certain hadith has been transmitted through a different chain with the same wording, or the same meaning, from the same or a different companion of the prophet, or whether the narrator was the only one to state this hadith. This is called iꜤtibār.
