المعنى الاصطلاحي
A name for the Day of Judgment, which will surely take place, as Allah, the Exalted, has informed.
الشرح المختصر
“Al-Waqi‘ah” (The Day of Judgment): The Day of Judgment has several names in order to signify its importance and as a warning for the humans to fear it. All of these names indicate the greatness and severity of this Day and describe the difficulty that people shall face. It is a Day during which the sights will stare out of awe and the hearts will fly from their position until they reach one"s throat. “Al-Wāqi‘ah” is one of those names. It is named thus because it will surely take place when Allah wills. No one is capable of stopping it from occurring. It will occur when the angel blows in the trumpet and the Hour begins.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر
“Al-Wāqi‘ah”: occurrence, something disastrous, a severe calamity. It is also one of the names of the Day of Judgment, because that is something that will happen and that will overwhelm the entire creation.
