المعنى الاصطلاحي
Excessive praise that includes lying.
الشرح المختصر
"Itrā" means going to extremes in praising someone by using names and descriptions that have no proof in the religious texts. It could be falsehood such as the excessive praise of Jesus, peace be upon him, by the Christians, who praised him for that which he does not have. They said that he is part of the divine trinity, and that he is Allah"s son, and other claims of disbelief and polytheism. True love lies only in following the Prophet, may Allah"s peace and blessings be upon him, and his Companions, and those who followed them, and adopting their methods without adding or neglecting anything.
