المعنى الاصطلاحي
The angel who is entrusted with the divine revelation and who comes down with it from Allah Almighty to any of Allah’s messengers.
الشرح المختصر
"Jibreel" (Gabriel): Allah, Glorified and Exalted may He be, created the angels to worship Him and implement His commands in His Dominion. There are categories of angels; each category is entrusted with a mission to accomplish, and they never disobey the commands of Allah. One of them is entrusted with the divine revelation whereby the hearts survive, namely Jibreel, peace be upon him. He is the noblest of the angels. He is the Trustworthy Spirit. He is capable and honest; he neither adds to the revelation nor conceals anything of it. He has a special status in the sight of Allah, and the angels obey him by the command of Allah.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر
"Jibreel": Gabriel; the name of the angel entrusted with communicating divine revelation to the prophets, peace be upon them. It means "the slave of Allah".
