الشرح المختصر
"An‘aam" (livestock) refers to the wealth of grazing animals with padded hooves, meaning camels and those with cloven hooves, which are cows and sheep. They are called "an‘aam" because of the multiple "ni‘am" (blessings) which Allah Almighty has placed in them for mankind, like their ability to grow, give birth, produce milk, and man's use of their wool, fur, hair, and their backs as riding mounts, along with all other forms of benefit derived from them.
التعريف اللغوي المختصر
"An‘aam" (sing. na‘am): cattle; camels, cows, sheep. Derived from "tana‘um", which means: prosperity, enjoyment, affluence.
