The followers of Waasil ibn ‘Ataa al-Ghazzaal, the leader of the Mu‘tazilites.
الشرح المختصر
"Wasiliyyah": are the companions of Abū Hudhayfa Wasil b. ʿAṭaʾ, the leader of the Muʿtazilites and the caller to their innovation after Maʿbad al-Juhani and Ghaylan Al-Dimashqi. They believe in denying God’s attributes, attributing the power to the slaves, the intermediate position between Islam and disbelief, and that one of the two parties of al-Jamal and of Siffin is a sinner, with no determination which side is.

The followers of Wāṣil ibn ꜤAṭāʾ, the founder of the MuꜤtazilah. Their doctrine is based on four essentials: 1) negation of God’s attributes; 2) the divine will; 3) the status in-between; and 4) that one of the two parties who took part in the Battle of the Camel or the Battle of Ṣiffīn are transgressors, without defining which one.
